The Free From Fairy Flour
I have had the pleasure of meeting Vicki at many events along my Gluten Free journey, and I was so pleased when she decided to create a Gluten Free flour. Coming from a background of biochemistry and genetics, and having her little girl diagnosed with Coeliacs Disease, I knew she would have the skills and experience to make an amazing flour.
It is really hard to find good gluten free flours to cook with, some can make cooking really hard and often leave you with very dense cakes and breads.
This flour is ELIZA tested to make sure it is fully Gluten Free, so this means it really is safe for all those with Coeliacs Disease. She has been awarded silver in the ‘Free From Awards’ for the Innovative Category, which really is an amazing achievement.
I have used this flour to make bread and cakes I am really impressed by it, not only is it gluten free, but it is also rice free and wheat free.
I made my traditional Victoria Sponge cake with it, and it came out amazingly. It was so light and fluffy, and was such an easy flour to work with. You can check out the recipe on my other post for Victoria Sponge Cake.
I also tried making some bread with it, I added olives and sundried tomatoes to this bread. I like my bread to be interesting, so I thought I would add these ingredients. The bread turned out much better than my other loaves, light and fluffy and was so easy to work with.
I highly recommend this product, not only is it a lovely flour to work with, it is also great to know that it is founded and produced by Vicki, who has dealt with her daughter having Coeliacs Disease, so she knows the consequences of unsafe foods. Check the website for details and stockists:
